Smashed


In his series Broken Flower, Jon Shireman soaks flowers in liquid nitrogen then uses a special contraption to slam them against a wall at high speed to break them. The resulting photographs look pretty awesome. Check out the rest of his flickr stream here.

A Peace Treaty


In an effort to increase awareness of disappearing crafting traditions, Farah Malik and Dana Arbib created A Peace Treaty, an evolving collection of accessories and apparel. They work with skilled artisans in eight different countries and also create income-generating opportunities for out of work artisans, disabled and widowed women.
