Outdoor Envy

There's no better way to unwind than by sitting out on a porch with a good book and a glass of iced tea. In much of the South, the porch is considered a room in the house just like any other. In these spaces, that sentiment is reflected through the use of curtains, throw pillows, rugs, and potted plants that add personality, charm, and a sense of legitimate roomness if you will.

I love curtains on a porch. It gives you the option of privacy while still being out in the open.

Potted plants add charm and look beautiful from the street.

Candles, cacti and Corona create a southwestern feel.

Your pets will enjoy the porch, too!

Nothing quite like a porch swing.

Multiple gathering areas makes this porch perfect for a party.

A glossy coat of paint brightens things up.

Favorite Things

My favorite recent find on etsy has to be these gorgeous little embroidered 'tapestry collages' (1) by ginnyleedesigns. I could stare at any one of her works for hours. Honorable mention goes to this boombox pouch -  because who doesn't need a little pouch to carry makeup, coins or other miscellaneous items around? The fabric is handprinted canvas making it even more awesome.

Foster the People

I first heard Foster the People in this video I shared back in April and knew I loved their sound. Now they are all over the radio and I can't get enough of this song:

Perfect for an easy Sunday morning. I can't wait to catch them live this Thursday at the Masquerade in Atlanta!

From the outside, you'd never guess there's anything unusual about this Chelsea town house.

Just a thought

I like black and white. Especially when it's not all over.

Susie Sells Seashells

Happy Hump Day! I finally got my computer back! YAY! so I thought I'd celebrate with a quick little roundup of one of my favorite colors for summer (or any season really): sea foam green. No matter where you are, this shade is sure to brighten up your mood and remind you of the beach.

And here are some pretty little sea foam green things to spruce up your home and your wardrobe. My toes are currently painted this awesome color (10) which was the inspiration for this post. My feet look so pretty and tan - I'm actually considering having it permanently tattooed there.

Art I Love

I first came across Jack Pierson from this curated collection by the jealous curator via sfgirlbybay. I, too, love typography and art and also all things shiny, bright and awesome so naturally I fell in love with his word sculptures, which sell for well over $100,000 each. Why didn't I think of that?
