Hit list #4: 1. Santigold - Disparate Youth 2. Electric Guest - This Head I Hold 3. Portugal. The Man - Got it All (This Can't Be Living Now) 4. Tennis - Never to Part 5. The Velvet Underground - Who Loves The Sun 6. Thievery Corporation ft. David Byrne - The Heart's A Lonely Hunter 7. Grouplove - Tongue Tied 8. Empire of The Sun - Standing On The Shore 9. The Doors - Touch Me 10. Datarock - Amarillion 11. Sleigh Bells - Rill Rill 12. The Bamboos - On The Sly 13. The Whigs - Black Lotus 14. Bruce Springsteen - We Take Care Of Our Own 15. Pretty Lights - Finally Moving

If you listen to only one artist on here, it should be Tennis. Their music makes me feel like I'm dancing with unicorns on clouds made of daffodils, and the fact that they are a husband and wife duo hailing from Denver makes me love them even more. Other new favorites include: Portugal. The Man, Electric Guest and Datarock. But really, it's all good so check it out!

A Few Things

A few things I'm loving today...

Consider this a precursor to this week's This and That :)

3 Ideas

Just wanted to share a few ideas and ways to change things up around the house. I'm going to try #1 as soon as I find the time. Here are the dimensions of a polaroid if you're interested in trying it out for yourself - and if you do, let me know how it goes!

Color Crush

If I was Julianne Moore I'd wear green every single day - it's only right.
And this fireplace tiled in yellow is pretty awesome, too.

Pattern Play

I haven't been keeping up with New York Fashion Week as much as I'd like, but I did make a point to check out what Jenna Lyons cooked up for J.Crew, and was completely delighted to find all sorts of patterns, textures, and bold brights (!!!) for fall. Needless to say, I'm loving it. Check out the full collection right over here.

Happy {late} Valentine's Day!

Hope you all had a fabulous Valentine's Day! We didn't get to do anything fancy, as I didn't get home til 9:30 last night, but it doesn't really matter because every day is Valentine's Day at our house (Allen's words, not mine - isn't he sweet?) As it should be for everyone and all their loved ones so keep sending those flowers, cards, and chocolates to your friends, families, boyfriends and girlfriends all year around. Or at least try to tell them how much you love them each and every day :) xo

The One and Only

Did y'all watch the Grammy Awards last night? How hard did Adele crush it? Proof you don't need blue hair, a fishnet covered face, or a bishop by your crazy as ever side to garner some attention.

Check out her seriously gorgeous cover and spread in the March issue of Vogue shot by Mert and Marcus.

Becca Stadtlander

Loving these quaint little illustrations by Becca Stadtlander. Most of her work is available (and affordable) in her etsy shop, and you can keep up to date with her new works or find out more about what inspires her on her blog.

Nickey + Kehoe

I may be late discovering Todd Nickey and Amy Kehoe's portfolio (and shop!), but I love their work so much I decided it might be worth sharing anyway. Then, when I started saving these photos to my inspiration folder and noticed the files were named 'ruffalo', I did some fact-checking and realized my initial suspicions were correct: this is Mark Ruffalo's pretty much perfect Hollywood Hills home. I love how cozy and down to earth it is. He must be one cool cat. Or maybe Nickey and Kehoe are just that good? (probably a little bit of both.) Glancing through their portfolio it's obvious they're awesome at creating warm and inviting spaces no matter what style their clients prefer - a clear sign of true talent. Check out the rest of their work here and take a peek inside their shop.

Pretty Little Things

Some pretty little things for Valentine's Day or any day of the year...

1. Sonia by Sonia Rykiel polka dot cotton-voile scarf 2. O'Clock gold face watch 3. Four Palms in Paradise by Bianca Green 4. Elizabeth and James thorn stud earrings 5. Cosabella two-tone bra 6. Trend Spotting

A few looks to love this season...

1. Ladylike bags - much more sophisticated than your average hobo. This one is J.Crew's Edie Purse $238. Other nice options include the Madewell Lil Briefcase Bag $118, Veda's Muffin Purse $336, and the TopShop Bluebell Snake Twist Lockbag $50

2. Bold Chokers - preferably in gold or silver are guarenteed to make your t shirt and jeans look more like an ensemble. Affordable options include the R.J. Graziano Silver Collar Necklace $55 and the TopShop flat metal collar $28. I also love this style.

3. Colorful Separates - The new way to colorblock allows for mixing and matching. For trousers, try Jenni Kayne's wide leg version (here or here), for denim J.Crew's toothpick jean is the way to go, check here for cord options, and here for bags. More on shoes later...

4. Hair Accessories - The fashion industry hasn't payed much attention to hair accessories since the rise and fall of the scrunchie, but I'm sensing a comeback at the grassroots level (*not of scrunchies but of hair accessories in general). Whether you use ribbons or metal, there's no better way to distract from your bad hair day. Visit your local Michael's.
