Outdoor Envy

Could you imagine what a sweet tan you could get up here? In Ourika Valley, Morocco at the base of the Atlas Mountains lies the home of Liza Bruce and Nicholas Alvis Vega. When they first saw it, it was an abandoned and dilapidated traditional Moroccan riad - a home constructed around an interior garden - but they saw potential there, and jumped at the chance to rebuild the the space into a handcrafted home of their own design. The couple kept the bare bones and redesigned with the help of local artisans.

Doors crafted by local woodworkers lead out to the gardens.

The terrace on the second floor

Check out the tree growing right up through their kitchen! Not to mention the counter and floor tiles - all of which are locally crafted.

Tables just outside of the kitchen - they have no formal dining room and typically sprawl out on cushions when guests come over.

and last but certainly not least, the pool. It really doesn't get more luxurious than that. Check out the rest of their amazing Moroccan retreat at Elle Decor.
