Favorite Things

A few favorite things from some sweet shops I discovered on Etsy this week...

How cool is this pipe bookshelf by Stella Blue Designs? and I am so tempted by this charming little tea cart - it's only $75! Also love these sleek and simple sphere vases by Rou Designs, a mother and daughter team based out of Long Island (isn't that sweet?) and I'm glad I stumbled upon Fortune by Kim Dulaney - it was hard to choose a favorite of her one of a kind pieces. Case and point: this awesome necklace and this awesome necklace. Actually, I'd like one of everything. And if you're looking for colorful photography and interesting compositions, be sure to check out September Wren.

DB/CB

I am loving every single piece over at DB/CB Debra Baxter: Crystal Bomb - they are so unique! It's too hard to choose a favorite, but I'll go ahead and put them all on my pretend fantasy Christmas wish list :)

Rock Candy

How fun are these colorful hand-painted pieces by Tom Binns? Can't wait to try to recreate my own with a bracelet I found at Antiques and Beyond and this DIY tutorial via Cupcakes and Cashmere

Favorite Things

Good news: Etsy is back to its old layout! In appreciation, I did some serious browsing. Here's what I found:

I couldn't choose one favorite among this week's etsy wishlist, so I'll tell you a bit about them all.

Indian vs Indian is such a cool shop to look through because of its unified style. I can't stop thinking about their vintage camping stools (& all their other awesome chairs) and how great they'd look on my balcony.

These lovely earrings by Jamie Cox from Deuce struck my fancy, and looking through her shop I realized I love everything she makes - all from vintage materials. I'd site some other favorites, but it was too hard to pick so definitely check out her shop.

How cute is this boat fabric from Aunt June? Also love the feathers fabric on these bags

And last but certainly not least, this awesome "Heck Yes" sketchbook from slide sideways, because who wouldn't be pumped to sketch or write in this? Pay them a visit for other fun handmade goods. Have a lovely Sunday!

Shop I Love: BHLDN

From the geniuses over at Anthropologie comes the prettiest little wedding shop BHLDN, where you can find whimsical, unique and charming dresses, accessories and decor to make sure your big day is as wonderful as you always dreamt it would be. I'm not in the market for a wedding dress, but I can definitely appreciate their amazing jewelry that's sure to make any day feel extra special.

Favorite Things

My favorite recent find on etsy has to be these gorgeous little embroidered 'tapestry collages' (1) by ginnyleedesigns. I could stare at any one of her works for hours. Honorable mention goes to this boombox pouch -  because who doesn't need a little pouch to carry makeup, coins or other miscellaneous items around? The fabric is handprinted canvas making it even more awesome.

Favorite Things

Hope you all had a lovely weekend! Mine was packed full of birthday and engagement celebrations, brunches, poolside lounging and trips to the park with the dogs, but I still made time to peruse etsy late this afternoon - a good enough excuse to escape the blistering heat outside. My favorite find is fabulousmess, a shop full of funky home goods that I can't afford like this crazy awesome hot pink and silver loveseat. Its fun imagining up interiors where these eclectic goods would fit right in. I can, however, afford these brass flamingos from there, which seem to belong on either side of my fireplace...

favorite things

After seeing photos from Australia's Fashion Week (and a momentary lapse in judgement: see note on skinny toy watches), I decided to look on Etsy for some dainty little rings and of course found some other lovely things as well. My favorite discovery has to be Please Be Still and Jen Renninger's work. Her whimsical prints are so fun and girly, I just can't decide which one I want yet. I love her Words to Live by series and looking through portfolios on her website was inspiring to say the least. Anyhoo, here's my etsy wishlist this week.

Turn on Your Brights

When this 80's trend was first resurrected a few years ago, designers and fashion retailers were burning retinas everywhere with neon shades so offensive you had to wonder if highlighter manufacturers were supplying the dyes. Okay it wasn't that bad - but the trend has evolved toward a less aggressive form that is decidedly more flattering on all types of skintones. Here are some favorite neon accessories.

1. Nars Eyeshadow in Rated R $33 2. Urban Outfitters sunglasses $10 3. Forever 21 bracelets $7.80 4. Jil Sander wedge $550 5. Dover Street Market satchel €110 6. Lacrosse sandals $160 7. Tom Binns earrings $200 8. Forever 21 sunglasses $5.80 9. TopShop bangle $28

Latest Obsessions

Bossypants is easily one of the funniest books I have ever read. Her chapter about having her first (and thus far only*) child is called "There's a Drunk Midget in My House" - enough said.

obsessed with Aaron Straup Cope's pretty maps - this one is of Paris. they're affordable, too!

loving the rough, geometric jewelry by lady grey

I was so proud to see The Futurebirds featured on one of my favorite music blogs recently. Carter and Dennis went to my high school and it has been so fun to watch them blow up. Listen and read the awesome review here. To hear more look here.

and last but not least - this awesome DIY terrarium via designsponge

*update: i just learned Tina Fey is pregnant with her second child via this hilarious interview with fellow former SNL writer Conan O'Brien
