Dog Days

Y'all know I'm a huge animal lover (I used to work at the Humane Society here in Atlanta) so of course this editorial shot by Emily Shur for PAPER magazine is right up my alley. What's really awesome, though, is the message behind it: Please rescue before you shop! Amen, PAPER mag.

This and That

Happy Thursday party people! Here are a few things that have caught my eye this week...

Loving the organized chaos of Rosson Crow's work - especially her use of color and repetition
Another thing I love: well dressed children. Bonpoint's Fall/Winter lookbook via Honey Kennedy hits the spot
The view! the floors! that balcony! Real estate stalking in Sydney with desire to inspire
From the guys that brought you Awkward Family Photos, here's Awkward Family Pet Photos

This and That

How awesome is Fine Art Pet Photographer Carli Davidson's series Shake? Shes uses a fast shutter speed to capture these hilarious images of dogs shaking off water. I need one of Bambi ASAP. via PetaPixel
A totally amazing trolley depot renovation right here in Atlanta - Before & After via DesignSponge
Play FreeRice - the World Food Program's vocabulary game that uses revenue generated from ads to donate 10 grains of rice for every answer you get right
If you're looking for some new music, check out Pretty Much Amazing's list of Best Albums of 2011 thus far
And last but not least, the cutest thing you'll see all day

This and That

Fun fact: I was named "most likely to be a graffiti artist" in high school. While the prediction never came true (not yet at least), I still enjoy some good street art like Pablo Delgado's miniature wheatpaste scenes found gracing the streets of London - could you imagine walking along and spotting one of these little gems?

Paul, Stella and James McCartney, Scotland, 1982

Brian Jones and Mick Jagger, New York, 1966

Beatles, 1968

Paul with daughters Heather and Mary

The Grateful Dead, San Francisco, 1968

Paul McCartney, John Lennon

Linda McCartney was a photographer long before she met Paul at the launch party for Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band in 1967 and she has got the archive to prove it. If you're in NYC, check out the exhibit at Bonni Benrubi Gallery or you can have your own exhibition of her work with Linda McCartney: Life in Photographs
and on that note, a funny little infographic on how dad's music indicates what you listen to today

Dog Boarding

While we're on the subject of dogs, I saw this video on Stereogum and it is AMAZING!

Bambi on Desire to Inspire!

My baby girl Bambi (and half the reason for the name of this blog) made her blog debut yesterday on Desire to Inspire's Pets on Furniture feature and I was so proud that she made the cut ;) Here is the photo:

Because Desire to Inspire is an interior design blog, not a cute pet blog, I had to have some furniture in there. Here are some more of my favorite photos of Bambi aka Bam aka the Boo aka the Baby Alligator aka Beiben (thanks to my God son Sully)

with Sully, my god son - they are about the same age and best friends ;)
